What?

board_div is an R-shiny based app that allows you to quickly and easily assess how diverse your board or team is, and if there are areas of concern regarding inclusion.

Why?

This is some evidence that points in the direction that diverse boards make better decisions, but there is much more hype and prejudice about the subject. Therefore we have built an app that is based on the R-library {div}. This uses the well established concepts of entropy to describe diversity relative to a reference population. This is leagues ahead of any reporting in the style of "percentage of female", and more importantly has a smooth second derivative around distribution equal to the population.

A solid reporting on diversity comes –unfortunately– with caveats and complexity. So, read carefully the text in the app.
